(These go for over $3k on reverb.com, etc. when they become available).
A very rare Gibson amp featuring a unique vibrato! This amp has a huge sound with a full range frequency response and warm focused midrange. Normal cosmetic wear for an amp of this age, including tolex wear, hardware patina, etc. Of course, cosmetics don’t affect tone. Cranked up, this amp sings with a rich, harmonic-filled overdrive. The vibrato is amazingly warble-y with a sound similar to the Fender brownface circuit, but with even more character. A killer sounding amp and one of the few GA-55V's out there!
I bought this personally from the auction of THE J. Geils' estate in December, 2017. All documentation/proof available (see photos). I paid shipping, insurance, etc. so that it was treated with the care it deserves. I kept the box/packing, so your shipping is only the actual charge by UPS (or whatever carrier you want).
I paid to have the amp serviced by the legendary Skip Simmons. Prior to this, Geils' tech made numerous upgrades (replacement period-correct P12Q Jensen speakers, 3-prong power cord, etc.). It has a vibrato control/footswitch for an ultra-cool pitch shifting vibrato. It sounds unusually great. Really nice smooth clean and overdriven tones and unusually quiet (see my video: https://youtu.be/vsOLx01a3J0).
I also had the famous YouTube-er “Uncle Doug” restore the cabinet (see: https://youtu.be/tjk7tho5wHU).
