Epiphone Dot Studio in gloss black. This is the stripped-down, no-frills Gibson ES-335 killer – same semi-hollow maple body, set mahogany neck, and Alnico Classic humbuckers as its pricier siblings, but without the binding or inlays that jack up the price. Sounds huge unplugged and roars through an amp. Think early Gary Clark Jr. tones on a budget.
Condition:
The neck had a tiny crack that was mitigated years ago- a small crack developed near the headstock, so I put reverse pressure on the neck and soaked the crack with Starbond, and then cured the glue under pressure. A perfect repair, but you get a huge discount as a result.
Neck sanded smooth through almost all the finish, stopped when it felt right, but you can sand it all the way off if you prefer. As it is, it feels great in the hands, very fast!-
Frets over 95% life, zero buzz, pro setup with 10-46s.
Electronics 100% – pots are smooth, switch is snappy, no crackle.
Truss rod turns both ways, neck is arrow-straight.
Deserves a home where it’ll get played, not sit in its case.
Price:
$200 cash – firm but fair
Pickup:
Public meetup in placerville – coffee shop parking lot, police station, wherever you feel safe. Can demo plugged into my little Blackstar fly if you want to hear it sing. Delivery available.
Serious buyers only – first come, first served.
Don’t sleep on this – at $200 it’s basically a crime.
