SEAMLESS SINGLE-PLY OF 5.5”x14” hollowed out Spalted Maple Snare
Drum. NOT a block or stave drum. No reinforcing rings or glue of ANY kind necessary. A TRULY SEAMLESS, VERY STRONG, AND RESONANT MAPLE SHELL, cut from a hollowed-out Canadian Maple Tree IS THE RESULT.
These extremely RARE (AND WERE VERY FEW RELEASED)LIMITED SEAMLESS SHELLS aquired from Ray Ayotte (of Ayotte Drums fame) by Ronn Dunnett, who hand-oil-rubbed (Matte Natural), edged, snare-bedded, drilled and festooned the drum with gorgeous chrome hardware, which includes DIE CAST OR TRIPLE-FLANGED 10-HOLE HOOPS, 24-strand wires and Dunnett R-Class R5 Adjustable, Swiveling Quick-Release Strainer/Throw-off.
PURE MAGICAL TONE AND TENSION LATITUDE.
And look at the beautiful figuring of the Vertical Spalted Maple grain! GORGEOUS.
And no disrespect to Canopus Zelkova, Brady, Craviotto or Noble and Cooley; but this RARE AND LIMITED GEM easily rivals the very best that I’ve played and owned. This drum truly covers ALLL of the bases, and then some. Extremely sensitive and wonderful under the microphone. A TRUE head-turner!!
