Acoustic Model 165 Guitar Amp, 100 Watt, all tube, all wood cabinet. This amplifier is basically a clone or knockoff of the Mesa Boogie Mark II, with the same technology and circuitry in it. The company went out of business in 1983 after some conflict with Mesa Engineering it appears. I bought it from Guitar Center where it was upgraded with all new tubes, and many new parts. The amp has the Electric Voice speaker in it and has a graphic equalizer. This guitar amplifier is insanely loud and powerful and would be perfect for touring or working musicians. This thing is heavy as ...., but has good wheels on it. For those of you who think the Acoustic Model 165 amplifier is for acoustic guitars, it most certainly is not. It is designed for electric guitar playing, super clean rock, blues or jazz playing to blistering overdriven lead application with sustain such as what you would hear from Satriani or Santana. Search on you tube for demonstrations and reviews of this amplifier. The amp has a wood matching foot switch included.
Here is a commenter's review on the Acoustic Model 165:
Owned mine for 32 years now. It's a monster, and can smoke pretty much anything off a stage (if need be). Amazingly flexible, from crystal clean to heavy, heavy dist. I'll never sell, but would buy another if I spotted it!
This amp is for the stage, live performance, concerts and the like. I am never going to use it in that capacity so that is why I am selling it. $600.00
