I’m looking for a new home for my sister’s dog. She moved away and left him behind, and I’ve been caring for him since. He’s a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix, about 55–60 lbs, neutered, and up to date on his shots.
He’s incredibly loyal, smart, and protective. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your shadow — he just needs someone patient and consistent to help him feel safe and secure. He loves walks, car rides, and being part of daily life.
He tends to do better with women and female dogs, but he also responds well to a calm, confident male who provides clear structure. He can be unsure around new people and may bark at first, especially from his crate, but once he warms up, he’s affectionate and gentle.
He’s house trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. Because of his protective nature, he’d do best in a calmer home without small kids or constant visitors.
I unfortunately can’t keep him any longer and really don’t want to take him to a shelter. He deserves a chance to be with someone who understands him — ideally someone experienced with herding or working breeds who can give him the stability and attention he needs.
If you’re interested, please tell me a little about your experience with dogs and what kind of home you can provide. A small rehoming fee applies to ensure he goes to a committed, responsible owner.
