It is quite well constructed, considering its modest price. The box’s inside lining is silver, allowing for maximum light reflection. It has both an internal diffuser panel and a main front diffuser surface, producing a nice, soft light source with no hot spots or concentric circles. The front diffuser is recessed approximately 3” from the edge of the softbox, reducing light spillage at the margins of the box. An optional grid can be secured onto that lip with velcro. The softbox is lightweight, attaches easily and securely onto its S-bracket, and is simple to detach and fold flat for transport. This portability makes it convenient for shoots on location as well as in the studio.
The S-bracket is adjustable to accommodate a speedlight or small strobe, such as the Godox AD200. The box is excellent for product photography and for portraiture up to half body length.
Reason for selling: I’m scaling up to big umbrellas for my shoots.
