I’m new to the Sacramento area having moved from Phoenix, AZ two years ago. I'm looking to let businesses in the metal trades know that I am available for project where you might need a hand. I have over 35 years in the metal trades. I'm semi-retired and continue to work on a part time basis as needed. I'm looking for projects. I love what I do. I'm not looking for a full time nor a long-term part-time gig but am open to listen if the work is challenging. If you have a metal project you're considering or are engaged in and need an extra hand or advice on procedure or design, give me a call.
If you have a welding service and find yourself in a large project that requires some help on a short-term basis, give me a call. Maybe one of your welders calls in sick and you have to get a job done yesterday, give me a call. Maybe your staff is committed on a job site and new work comes in and you have to jump on it or risk losing the client, give me a call.
I may not be available at the moment you call but I have a very flexible schedule that I can massage to give you a hand. I can usually be available from one day to the next and can commit to a job as long as it’s understood we're talking short term, although as I said, I’m open to listen if the job/work is challenging and interesting.
I can come in on a W-2 or a 1099. I’m open. I can handle aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and ferrous metals. I'm good with a torch and can cut, scarf, heat, bend, gas weld and braze with the best of them. I'm equally at home welding on thin gauge sheet metal as with 1" plus heavy iron.
I weld on a variety of items from bike frames to boat hulls and pontoons. From aluminum trailers to truck and car frames. From cast iron machine bases to stainless steel sinks and equipment. One of my niches is in car repair-restoration where I get called on to weld aluminum transmission cases, engine blocks and frames when they discover that a car involved in an accident sustained more than body damage to the structure or mechanical parts. I handle many situations where bolt holes are broken out and require rebuilding, drilling and tapping new threads. Sometimes a part must be made up to perform the repair.
I have a fully equiped weldng rig built on a old Ford F350 U-haul truck. I have a Miller Trailblazer with a high frequency box for aluminum TIG welding and a Miller spoolgun and that runs off of the Trailblazer too. I carry welding bottles of Argon, Argon-C02 and Oxy-acetelyne tanks for cutting or welding as needed. I carry a range of filler metals to handle most anything that comes my way. It has a workbench, drill press and bench grinderfor small fab projects that crop up now and then. I carry a full set of hand tools as sometimes things need to be taken apart and put back together.
I have my own taps, dies and drill bits and all the basic tools you would expect a welder to have in their toolbox (hammers, hand tools, chisels, grinders, wire wheels, emery wheels and carbide bits, die grinder, saws-all, come along, etc.
My rate is negotiable as a 1099 depending on the hours you require and / or difficulty of a particular job, for more information call Tony at show contact info
