Looking for one student / postdoc / faculty / professional to share well-maintained, clean house in North Davis with one responsible housemate. Pets OK. Rent is $1150 per month and includes 11x12ft bedroom with private entry, shared office, private bathroom, high-speed internet, washer/dryer, and off-street parking. Alternatively, for $1250, the shared office could be completely yours—up to you. Tenant pays half of PG&E (everything else included). Move-in requires first and last months’ rent and a refundable $200 security deposit. Cats/dogs welcome depending on fit and with additional deposit. Available September 1, 2026, although earlier move-in date may be possible.
The house is a 1450ft2, 3-bed / 2-bath Eichler-model located in a safe, quiet neighborhood full of greenbelts, a five-minute walk to the NorthStar Park and Trail, a 10-minute bike ride to campus and downtown, and on the UCD Unitrans F Bus Line. House has vaulted ceilings, multiple skylights, indoor terrarium, and large, landscaped yards with room for gardening. Energy efficiency is above average due, in part, to many new energy-efficient appliances. Rooms have closets and new, dual-pane sliding glass door separate entryways as seen in the photos. The entire property, inside and out, is kept in excellent condition. All repairs are taken care of promptly. The house is furnished, so there is not room for furniture (bedrooms are not furnished). The shared living spaces are kept fairly minimalist, clean, and while there is some room for storage in the garage, it is not a lot.
I'm a socially conscious 47 y/o male (he, him) Developmental Psychologist transitioning from research to social/clinical work (currently working as Research Affiliate at UC Davis). The dynamic I'm looking for at home is equitable and characterized by mutual respect, where communication is open and housemates do not feel confined to their rooms. Guests are welcome, of course. House rules and expectations would be developed and agreed upon by the two of us. I'm social, but do not expect housemates to feel socially obligated (e.g., the occasional shared meal or drink is nice, but never expected). The two basic requirements include (1) shared living spaces need to be kept clean and uncluttered, and (2) a sincere respect for racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender minorities is absolutely required. If interested, please tell me a bit about what you are looking for. From there, we can find a time to meet, either at the house or for coffee first, to see how our living preferences align. I’m happy to put you in touch with previous housemates of mine to share their candid experiences living with me. Finally, If this ad is posted, the property is still available.
Thanks,
Ben
