The Foot Patrol Security Guard provides safety and security services for personnel, property, guests and visitors. Conducts investigations to obtain information and evidence related to suspected loss prevention policy violations by performing the following duties.
Ensures safety and security of all persons and property.
Enforces federal, state, and local laws, regulations and company policies and procedures.
Identifies situations or individuals with high potential for theft or threat to safety and security of staff, visitors or guests and takes appropriate steps.
Identifies compliance and non-compliance with company policies and procedures by employees and visitors. Makes recommendations to the Asset Protection Manager for corrective action.
Provides physical security to premises to include unlocking/locking doors, responding to calls for service, identifying employees during afterhours for entry into building, making routine patrols through the building and providing escorts to vehicles for employees and consumers.
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
Maintains necessary documentation and reports of incidents, apprehensions and investigations.
Handles evidence professionally and according to established guidelines.
Challenge employees or other individuals in unauthorized areas.
Immediate notifications of city police in emergency situations.
Communicate by telephone with security Alarm Company.
Make regular inspection tours of grounds and buildings.
Immediate notifications to management of any irregular behavior, activities or circumstances.
Respond to incidents at other store or site locations as needed.
Conduct self in safe manner; report all work injuries immediately to the Safety Manager.
Work cooperatively with Supervisor & other employees under all conditions as required by nature of operation and be flexible to shift work as needed.
Completion of shift hourly production report.
Fluent in both written and spoken English; bi-lingual Spanish helpful.
Valid Ca. Driver's license. Dependable transportation.
Proper maintenance of uniforms and professional appearance.
Punctual and dependable attendance.
Free from drug and alcohol abuse.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Minimum of 6 months related experience required.
Knowledge of proper safety standards and security techniques desirable.
Able to perform the essential functions of the Foot Patrol Security job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
Completion of 16 hours assigned training.
