We are a busy local trade printing company, located in West Sacramento seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bindery Folder Operator to join our bindery department. The ideal candidate will have experience operating folding machines and finishing equipment, and will take responsibility for producing folded and bound printed materials (brochures, catalogs, magazines, etc.) to customer and company standards. This role is vital to our production chain and requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate folding machines and other bindery equipment to ensure accurate and efficient production runs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; adhere to safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate & Communicate with production team members to ensure timely completion of projects and smooth workflow.
- Troubleshoot issues with folding and binding equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Meet productivity and quality standards set by the company, tracking finish counts, waste, and error rates.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience as a Bindery Folder Operator or in a similar role within a printing production/finishing environment (STRONGLY preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to assert quality control throughout runs.
- Familiarity with folding/bindery equipment and/or printing environment (setting up, running, maintenance).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods; bend, reach, move materials regularly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently when required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting ability; a willingness to learn additional finishing equipment is a PLUS.
