We are a busy local trade printing company, located in West Sacramento seeking experienced and skilled Large Format Operator to join our team and help us produce standout signage, posters, graphics and other visual materials for our trade clients. In this role you’ll be responsible for the complete large format production process — from job setup to print through finishing — and you’ll help maintain our standard of quality, accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate large format printing equipment — including wide-format inkjet, roll-to-roll, flatbed or other large media printers — in accordance with job specifications and work orders.
- Prepare print files and media, load substrates (vinyl, canvas, large-format paper, films), select inks and configure machine settings for optimal output.
- Monitor print runs for color accuracy, registration, image quality and consistency; perform finishing tasks such as trimming, laminating or mounting as required.
- Maintain accurate production logs, track materials usage, record any variances or quality issues, and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area, adhere to safety and quality protocols, and collaborate with design, production and fulfillment teams to ensure on-time delivery.
- Stay current with emerging large format print technologies, techniques and substrates to continuously improve print quality and production flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a large format printing environment (trade-printing preferred).
- Prior experience with large format printing equipment, substrates and finishing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
- Ability to read job tickets, interpret layouts, understand specifications and requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude for machine operation, setup and basic troubleshooting.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods and move around the production floor.
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with color management, RIP software, print media types and finishing processes is a plus, but not required.
