Are you an experienced CDL Instructor looking to make an impact? Join our growing CDL training school and help prepare the next generation of professional truck drivers.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-focused CDL Class A Instructor with at least 2 years of instructor experience to provide both classroom and behind-the-wheel training to students pursuing their Commercial Driver's License.
This position combines classroom education, yard training, and on-road instruction. You will be responsible for ensuring students understand the laws, regulations, safety practices, and driving skills required to successfully obtain their CDL and begin a career in commercial transportation.
Responsibilities
Teach classroom lessons covering CDL laws, regulations, safety requirements, and industry best practices
Prepare students for permit and CDL examinations
Conduct student testing and evaluate progress throughout training
Provide hands-on instruction in the training yard, including pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, coupling and uncoupling procedures, and vehicle control
Conduct behind-the-wheel instruction on public roads
Train students in defensive driving techniques and safe operation of Class A commercial vehicles
Maintain accurate student records and training documentation
Create a professional, safe, and positive learning environment
Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A License
Minimum 2 years of CDL Instructor experience
Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, CDL requirements, and commercial vehicle safety standards
Clean driving record
Excellent communication and coaching skills
Professional appearance and attitude
Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
